Lviv Philharmonic Becomes Barrier-Free for Everyone

The Lviv National Philharmonic named after Myroslav Skoryk presented an updated barrier-free space.

Today, on February 5, at the Lviv National Philharmonic named after Myroslav Skoryk, an updated barrier-free space was presented, implemented within the framework of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space by 2030 and the regional program for cultural development. More than 1.8 million UAH from the regional budget was directed to these measures. Acting Head of the Lviv Regional Council Yuriy Kholod and Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Maksym Kozytskyy participated in the presentation.

The philharmonic has equipped: barrier-free access to the concert hall, a lifting platform for people in wheelchairs, a special lift to the stage, an inclusive bathroom, a modern hearing system for people with hearing impairments.

Yuriy Kholod emphasized that culture is an important element of veterans’ rehabilitation, and creating barrier-free conditions is an example of a responsible and humane approach.

According to Acting General Director of the Philharmonic Ihor Muravyov, the institution became the first philharmonic in Ukraine to install special systems for people with hearing impairments. The work on inclusivity will continue.
