For 10 days, from January 12 to 22, the Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic will host the Bach Contemporary Christmas festival for the fifth time, the events of which will destroy stereotypes about the music of the German genius. The concerts will show how relevant and interesting it is, even after 300 years.
Real masters of their craft – Ukrainian virtuoso musicians – will take part in the events of the festival. The Bach Contemporary concerts will be accompanied by visualizations from the improvisational artist Olga Kuts, who will use various techniques (graphics, painting) to depict the images and moods of the compositions that will be played.

At the opening of the festival, four concerts will be performed in translation for piano and organ, as well as cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach, written by the composer for the Christmas holidays. The soloists will prove that the music of the outstanding baroque artist remains incomparable and special even through the centuries.

The second event of the Bach Contemporary festival will surprise even more, as the musical journey will reach warm and sunny Spain! Guitarist Andrii Ostapenko will perform a variety of works for classical Spanish guitar: from ancient ballroom dances to fiery tangos and scherzos.
