In Lviv, a cooperation agreement was signed between the municipal institution of the Lviv Regional Council “Lviv Historical Museum” and the Museum of the Battle of Grunwald in Stębark (Poland). The document was signed by the Director of the Lviv Historical Museum, Roman Chmelik, and the Director of the Polish museum, Szymon Drej.
The agreement provides for the joint organisation of exhibitions, the implementation of academic projects, the preparation of publications, and the exchange of specialists and professional experience. The parties also plan to work together to attract funding for cultural and academic initiatives aimed at preserving and researching the shared historical heritage of Ukraine and Poland.
“Ukraine and Poland are united by centuries of shared history. That is why it is extremely important to work together to preserve it, to study it thoroughly and to pass on historical memory to future generations. We are convinced that cooperation between museum institutions of Ukraine and Poland will contribute not only to the development of scholarship and culture, but also to strengthening mutual understanding and building new bridges between our peoples,” the Consulate General of Ukraine in Gdańsk noted.
The Lviv Historical Museum expects that the partnership with the Polish museum will make it possible to expand international contacts, present Ukraine’s historical heritage to a wider audience and create new joint exhibitions.
