The concert had a charitable purpose – to raise UAH 85 thousand to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Today, Lviv hosted a solemn event dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Lviv College of Culture and Arts, an educational institution that has become a real talent forge for Ukraine.
So, in honour of the celebration, a gala concert was held, during which the best employees were awarded. In addition to the festive atmosphere, this day had an important charitable purpose – to raise UAH 85 thousand to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The guests and participants of the concert united under the slogan “Art. Youth. Future” to help our warriors, proving that art can be not only beautiful, but also a powerful tool of support.
On the occasion, the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, awarded the best employees of the college with certificates of honour and letters of thanks.
“The Lviv College of Culture and Arts is not only a story of achievement, but also a vivid example of how culture becomes the basis of our identity. Teachers and students of this institution create the present, preserving traditions and boldly stepping forward. I thank the entire team for your work and talent. I wish you new successes, creative achievements and inspiration that will light the way for future generations.
I sincerely congratulate the entire staff and students on this important date. I wish you further development, new achievements and prosperity. I am particularly grateful to the graduates and staff of the college who have served or are currently defending Ukraine in the Armed Forces. You are the pride and inspiration for all of us,” said Maksym Kozytskyi.
Maksym Kozytskyi presented the following with certificates of honour from the Regional State Administration:
- Ruslan Lyashenko, a lecturer at the cycle commission of general education and humanitarian disciplines, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the Lviv Professional College of Culture and Arts;
- Zoryana Rybina, Director of the Lviv Professional College of Culture and Arts;
- Nadiya Nagurska – lecturer of the cycle commission of music-theoretical and choral disciplines, head of the department;
- Yaroslava Bohoniuk – lecturer of the cycle commission of theatre disciplines.
The college has more than 10 creative teams: an orchestra and an ensemble of folk instruments, an orchestra of wind instruments, mixed and women’s choirs, a bandura ensemble “Struny Sertsera”, a men’s vocal ensemble, a folk dance ensemble “Dibrova”, a modern choreography ensemble and a ballroom dance ensemble.
Lviv College of Culture and Arts was founded on 19 December 1939. Since then, it has become not only an educational but also a cultural centre that educates generations of professionals in the field of art and culture. Today, 418 students study here under the guidance of 90 teachers who pass on their knowledge and experience. In 2024, the college reached a new record with the largest enrolment of 170 students in its history.
The college trains specialists in such areas as Management of Socio-Cultural Activities, Choreography, Musical Arts, Performing Arts, Information, Library and Archival Affairs, and others. In 2023, a new speciality was opened – Cinema and Video Business, which is another step forward for the institution.
The anniversary was a reminder of the college’s enormous contribution to the development of culture and art, as well as a symbol of its continuous development. This institution continues to be a place where new talents are born and the future of Ukrainian culture grows.
