Mykhailo Hrushevsky Lviv Museum invites to the screening of the film “Osip Kurylas. Return to History”
May 29 at 2 p.m. The Lviv Museum of Mykhailo Hrushevsky (154 I. Franka Street) will host a screening of the film “Osip Kurylas. Return to History”. The event was organized in cooperation with the Ukrainian Photographic Society (UFOTO) and the Lviv Photo Museum.
A film about a famous Ukrainian painter, refined graphic artist and cartoonist, master of miniature postcards, one of the founders of modern Ukrainian sacred art, unsurpassed illustrator of children’s reading books and primers, head of the art department of the USS Legion Press Apartment.
The film was shot on the basis of a found and digitized chronicle of 1947 at the expense of the Nagorny Foundation and the Kurilas family from America. The film uses an excerpt from the film “Legion. Chronicle of the Ukrainian Galician Army 1918-1919 ”by Taras KHYMYCH.
