Lviv’s Skansen Invites for Easter in the Grove: Traditional Games, Music, and Celebrations April 20–21

On Easter weekend, Lviv residents and city guests are warmly invited to the Shevchenkivskyi Hai — the Lviv Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life — for two festive days filled with traditional springtime games (haivky), concerts, and Easter activities.

🎉 Easter Program Highlights

📅 April 20, Sunday

Meadow near the water mill

  • 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM — Easter games for children. Young visitors will learn their first haivky (circle dances) and discover ancient Easter traditions.

Main festival meadow

  • 3:00 PM — performance by SHUM

  • 4:00 PM — performance by ETERIA

  • 5:00 PM — performance by Burdon

  • 6:00 PM — Easter liturgy at the Church from Kryvka village

  • 6:30 PM — YOSYFOVYCH LIVE concert

Meadow near the barn

  • Haivky with OUM “Spadshchyna”: traditional dances like the curved dance, stream, princess, and games like morgalky, belt game, as well as building the tower and elephant.

  • Full ticket: 250 UAH

  • Discounted (pensioners, students, schoolchildren): 100 UAH

  • Free entry: military personnel, veterans, people with disabilities, preschool children

📅 April 21, Monday

  • 1:00 PM — Haivky by children’s ensemble “Svitlytsia” (School No. 49, Lviv), featuring traditional Easter instruments led by folklorist and instrument collector Liubomyr Kushlyk

🖼️ Current Exhibitions:

  • “Black Fire of Havarachchyna” – Main museum hall

  • “In His Image and Likeness” by Olena Turianska – Church from Yazlivchyk village

Regular museum tickets apply on April 21.

🚌 Getting there
Bus No. 99 will operate from downtown to the skansen on April 19, 20, and 21. Visitors are encouraged not to drive to the site to avoid traffic congestion.

🚫 Parking rules

  • Use only designated parking lots on Chernecha Hora Street

  • Vehicles parked improperly will be towed
