A competition has been launched in Lviv Region for the Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi Prize. Scholars, medical professionals, educators, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, cultural figures and members of the public are invited to take part. This was reported by the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
The prize is awarded in two main areas. The first concerns the creation of academic works in the categories “Theology”, “Art Studies”, “Local History”, “Pedagogy”, “Medicine” and “Ecology”. The second area provides for recognition of a significant contribution to the development of society in the categories “Philanthropy”, “Entrepreneurship Development”, “Statehood” and “Culture”.
Two laureates will be selected based on the results of the competition. Each of them will receive a commemorative distinction, a diploma and a cash award from the regional budget in the amount of 245,000 UAH. The formal award ceremony is scheduled for 1 November, the day of commemoration of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi.
Applications to take part in the competition are accepted until 15 September. They may be submitted in person or sent by post to: Lviv, 4A Prosvity Street, as well as by email to the Department of Education: donloda@ukr.net with the subject line “Премія імені Митрополита Андрея (Шептицького)”.
