A temporary sculpture about the war to appear in Mytna Square in Lviv

In Lviv, a temporary sculptural installation entitled “To Go Through…” by Ukrainian artist Mykhailo Deyak, dedicated to the full-scale war, will be installed in Mytna Square.

The decision to place the object was approved on 19 June at a meeting of the executive committee of the Lviv City Council.

According to the artist’s concept, the sculpture will be silver in colour and will contain metaphorical images that convey Ukrainians’ experience of the war. The city’s chief architect, Anton Kolomeytsev, noted that the installation is a generalised symbolic image of the trials and obstacles the Ukrainian people are going through.

The initiative to install the piece came from the Zenyk Art Gallery. The sculpture is planned to be located in Mytna Square from 22 June to 1 October 2026.
