In Stryi, commemorative plaques were unveiled and blessed for three graduates of Stryi Gymnasium No. 7 who died defending Ukraine. The event was attended by relatives, friends, representatives of local authorities, the community and the clergy, as reported by the Lviv Regional State Administration.
Yurii Kil’dyakov was a senior soldier in the border guard service who fought from the first days of the full-scale war in Donetsk, Luhansk, and Sumy regions. He died in a road accident on 25 January 2025 while returning home.
Vladyslav Budynkevych, a rifleman in the rifle unit, went missing on 28 June 2024 near the village of Nevelske. He was identified through DNA testing.
Andrii Karpliuk, a senior sergeant and gunner, fought on many intense fronts and died on 11 March 2025 near Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, after being considered missing for almost two months.
