At the opening of the 33rd LvivBookForum, British writer and actor Stephen Fry publicly read a poem by Ukrainian author Viktoria Amelina, honouring her memory.
Viktoria Amelina was a Ukrainian writer. After the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, she travelled to de-occupied Ukrainian towns and villages, documenting war crimes committed by Russian forces.
In June 2023, Amelina was severely wounded during a missile strike on Kramatorsk. A few days after being wounded, she died.
The organisers and participants of the forum remember Viktoria Amelina and all those whose lives have been taken by Russian aggression.
