The money will be used to buy thermal imagers.
As part of the art project “FOR YOU, WARRIOR!” On 17 February, the Spring Primrose-2024 Charity All-Ukrainian Festival and Competition of Folk, Classical, Modern and Ballroom Choreography was held at the People’s House in Sokilnyky.
The dance festival raised over UAH 106 thousand to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These funds will be used to buy thermal imagers that are essential for soldiers on the front line.
According to Iryna Havryliuk, Director of the Department for Culture, Nationalities and Religions of the UMA, the festival was launched in 2022 on the initiative of the Lviv Regional Branch of the National Choreographic Union of Ukraine, with the support and assistance of the Department for Culture, Nationalities and Religions. The competition that took place recently in Sokilnyky is the ninth in this powerful choreographic project.
The festival was attended by 35 artistic groups from the Lviv region, which is 750 dancers. The participant’s cup, which was awarded to each of the groups, is made of shell casings brought by volunteer Timur Kharisov from Bakhmut.
“In times of war, it is extremely important to join forces and hold events that encourage children and young people to create, promote Ukrainian national dance art, and also help develop volunteerism to help our defenders at the front line. Over a million hryvnias were raised during the Festival’s concerts. This is how the organisers, participants and the audience who come to the concerts make a real contribution to bringing our victory closer,” said Iryna Havryliuk.
