The Stryi Regional Museum ‘Verkhovyna’ has received a unique collection of the emigration publication ‘Liberation Path’ from 1948 to 2009.
‘We are sincerely grateful to Oleh Medunytsia, a Ukrainian politician and head of the OUN (r). It is an honor for us to have these unique books in our collection, which will become an invaluable asset for historians and future generations’, noted the museum.
‘Liberation Path’ is a Ukrainian socio-political, literary, and scientific monthly journal of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (revolutionary). Founded in London in 1948, during the initial period of its existence, the journal was published on a cyclostyle and exclusively for OUN members. Simultaneously, as this publication became the official organ of the OUN (r) leadership, it was transitioned to typographic printing, and the format of the publication was changed to a book-like format starting in 1954.
The journal printed articles on topics such as international politics, the history of the OUN and UPA, materials on Ukrainian history and archaeology, literature, and more. Anyone interested can review the editions by contacting the museum.
