Voskresinnia Theater invites you to plays about war, faith and fools: the repertoire for October

Lviv Academic Theater “Resurrection” has prepared a rich and varied program for October, so every visitor will be able to know something interesting for himself.

“House without a number” by Ya. Fedoryshyn

They want to demolish a house without a number, but it has life and different destinies. This house is full of symbolism, connected to the past. A Woman, an Artist and an Old Man live in it…

This is a story about love and about the complete personality of a person, about his inner world, about the richness of the human soul, which we so often lose, running somewhere and in a hurry, and it is worth only stopping to see something. Life is one and there is no second chance. Only the dead have no tomorrow. As long as we live, there is hope and the ability to change everything. Uniting people, love and respect for each other is the way to Victory.

The play will be shown on October 1, 2, 29 and 30 at 6:00 p.m.

“Behind the door” V. Borchert

A play that no theater will stage and no audience will want to watch.

A man returned from the war and found himself outside the door… “Today outside the door. Always at the door. And the door is closed…”. But love is the power that breaks down any door and makes a person happy.

Interesting non-standard decisions of the director, a touching story of the test of faith of a person who returned from the war and was disappointed in the world, as well as the theme of love as the salvation of a person in our world – all this will not allow the audience to take their eyes off the stage for a moment.

This production can be seen on October 6 at 19:00.

“Iphigenia in Aulis” by Euripides (adaptation of the Resurrection Theater).

Beautiful Yelena has already been kidnapped. The Trojan War has begun and the Greek troops cannot sail from Avlida because there is no wind. The priest prophesies victory in the war to King Agamemnon, only on the condition that he sacrifices the life of his daughter Iphigenia. Power or humanity? What will Agamemnon decide? Lose the war or win by losing a child?

The heroes of ancient Greek mythology come to life in a modern, interesting, artistic, experimental interpretation of the honored artist of Ukraine Yaroslav Fedoryshyn, because questions that were relevant 5 thousand years ago remain relevant today.

You can see the performance on October 8 at 18:00.

“Job” by Karol Wojtyla (choral parable)

“If a person does not look at the sky, he loses the horizons of his own path” – these words of Ivan Paul II reflect the ideas of his first play “Job”, written in 1940 and first performed on the Ukrainian stage by the “Resurrection” theater. This is a play about the most intimate thing in our lives: about Faith, which supports us in the most difficult moments, about God’s all-encompassing love and care for each of us. The postmodern aesthetics of the play and the chorales written by Myron Datsk create a unique atmosphere.

The performance is extremely relevant in today’s conditions.

The screening will take place on October 11 at 19:00.

“Dinner with a fool” by F. Weber

An incredibly funny and at the same time lyrical plot about what actions a man is capable of for the sake of true love. Unless, of course, he is not a “Fool”…

The French comedy “Dinner with a Fool” will make you laugh and think at the same time. The subtle humor that permeates the entire performance will not leave anyone indifferent, because this comedy has a deep meaning and a very interesting storyline.

This is a play about humanity. Who will like it: cynical smart people or fools with a good heart. A good mood is guaranteed.

You can see the performance on the stage of the theater on October 15 and 16 at 18:00.

“Night for women” by A. McCarten, S. Sinclair and J. Kollar

If your soul desires an unforgettable and impressive action, positive emotions, light humor and 100% drive, the best gift for your good mood will be the performance “Night for Women”. This play is known to the world audience for numerous productions, which consistently break all records in terms of popularity. By the way, in 2001, she was awarded the highest theater prize of France “Moliere”.

Six unemployed friends despaired of finding a job – the only employer in the city, a metallurgical plant, closed down. An ad in the newspaper informs that each lady must pay $200 to enter a bar showing male striptease. A crazy idea comes instantly… Before the eyes of the surprised audience, “machine workers” turn into “stript strippers”.

Visitors will be able to see the production on October 22 and 23 at 6:00 p.m.
