
The people’s theatre troupe «Svichado» of the Busk Municipal People’s House, led by Oksana Shkvir, has become the winner of the Grand Prix of the prestigious international project-competition “Taras Shevchenko Unites Nations” in the category “My Shevchenko: musical and theatrical”.
The “Taras Shevchenko Unites Nations” competition has been held since 2016 on the initiative of People’s Artist of Ukraine and Ambassador for Peace Halyna Yablonska. The aim of the project is to popularise the work of Taras Shevchenko, Ukrainian culture and the representation of Ukraine in the global cultural sphere.
According to the organisers, in 2025 more than 1,300 participants from Ukraine, as well as artists from Belgium, the USA, Italy and Spain, took part in the 10th international project-competition.
This time, the theatre production “The Blind Man” based on the work of Taras Shevchenko and performed by “Svichado” received high praise from the professional jury chaired by People’s Artist of Ukraine and Ambassador for Peace Halyna Yablonska.
For the people’s theatre troupe “Svichado”, this is another significant creative achievement and confirmation of the high standard of the ensemble, which worthily represents the community at national and international arts competitions.
