The day before, on July 20, a round table “Traditions of the Yavorovo Region” was held in the Novoyavorivsk Museum of Local Lore. During the event, participants had the opportunity to take part in a master class on the preparation of Sycamore pie.
The purpose of the event is to unite the culture of the three regions of the border, to exchange the cultural experience of Yavorovo Krai with the neighbors and to work out ways of cooperation for the development of the picturesque border together.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Yavorivska RVA, the heads of the cultural departments of territorial communities of the Yavoriv district, the heads of the cultural departments of the cities of Zhovkva and Rava-Ruska.
The event began with a master class on making Yavorivsky pie. The guests were shown the most popular pie recipe and the elements used by the housewives of Yavoriv region, which gives it an amazing taste.
Afterwards, the audience learned about the history of the Yavorivka toy from the director of the museum, who shared the treasures of the Yavorivka culture, the history of the Yavorivka pie, the toy, and heartfelt stories about them.
At the end of the event, the participants of the round table took part in a master class on coloring the Sycamore toy. Here, each participant had the opportunity to divert their thoughts, chat with colleagues and have a good time.
We will remind you that the art of making the Yavorivka wooden toy and the tradition of making the Yavorivka pie were included in the National List of Elements of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Ukraine! The process was long.
Since 2020, the Lviv Regional State Administration has been making a lot of efforts to include Yavorivsky pie and Yavorivska toy in this list. Elements from the Lviv region were included in this list for the first time. This is not only the preservation of cultural heritage, but also the promotion of Lviv Oblast and Ukraine abroad.
