Today, on August 10, 2025, a commemorative event took place in the Belz community dedicated to the tragic history of the village of Bezuiv.
This village, located near the village of Murovane, was burned during wartime hardships. At 5:00 PM, a service was held in the chapel built on the site of the destroyed village. The service was led by Father Alexii Yavorsky (UGCC Belz), Father Volodymyr Klymchuk (UGCC Sibechiv), and Father Hryhorii Kot (UOC Murovane).
All attendees prayed for the souls of the innocently killed residents of Bezuiv, for peace and freedom of Ukraine. After the service, participants proceeded to the grave of the fighters for Ukraine’s freedom, where a patriotic gathering took place. Words of remembrance and gratitude were expressed to those who gave their lives for freedom, as well as appeals to preserve historical memory and pass it on to future generations.
“This event became not only a commemoration of a tragic past event but also a symbol of the indomitability of the Ukrainian people,” said Oksana Bereza, head of the Belz city community. She emphasized the importance of preserving the memory of the past, as it is the foundation of our identity and strength in the fight for the future.
