On Thursday, 1 October, the Lviv Photo Museum will open an exhibition of works by Latvian artists titled “Between Movements”. The event is scheduled to begin at 18:00.
The exhibition will feature works by five photographers from Latvia: Arturs Lapiņš, Dainis Ozols, Eduards Kapsa, Inese Grīzāne and Ilze Ozola. All the photographs were taken during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The authors have combined professional ballet with unconventional urban spaces. The ballerinas were photographed in abandoned buildings, neglected architectural sites and other non-standard locations, with a focus on the interaction between the movement of the human body and the urban environment.
The project showcases a fusion of the plasticity of classical dance, the dynamics of movement and architecture. The photographers employed various approaches to working with light, space and composition.
The “Between Movements” exhibition is part of cultural cooperation between Ukraine and Latvia and is intended to foster professional and creative ties between the photographic communities of the two countries.
The exhibition will be hosted at the Lviv Photo Museum, which operates in the premises of the Lviv Palace of Arts at the address: 17 Kopernyka Street.
