The exhibition will present graphic and pictorial works, photographs and archival materials related to rivers, streams and streams that played a role in shaping the face of the city.
In particular, more than 150 monuments from 10 fund collections of the Lviv Historical Museum and private collectors: fragments of the oldest Lviv aqueduct, household items of the townspeople, rare archival maps and plans, informative illustrative material.
A significant part of the presented exhibits are the result of painstaking search, research and restoration work of museum staff and are being shown for the first time.
“Lviv and water” are several thematic blocks in which we will reveal the importance of water in the foundation of the princely castle, the peculiarities of the functioning of Lviv as a medieval fortress city, the role of water in the everyday life and leisure of citizens in the modern period, the use of water in religious ceremonies of the city’s national communities .
Special emphasis is placed on informing visitors about the rational use and conservation of water resources in the region.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on September 27, starting at 2:00 p.m.
