The Lviv Historical Museum will open an exhibition «From Azov to the Carpathians».
At the municipal institution of the Lviv Regional Council «Lviv Historical Museum» on Wednesday, August 13, an exhibition of paintings by Vasyl Korenchuk «From Azov to the Carpathians» will be presented.
Until 2000, Vasyl Korenchuk worked as a design artist at the Azovstal plant in Mariupol, and in the last years before the start of the full-scale war – at the Mariupol Art Museum named after A. Kuindzhi. In February 2022, he was forced to leave Mariupol for Lviv.
«Vasyl Korenchuk is a talented painter and graphic artist. His favorite genres are landscape and still life. The artist’s works are imbued with love for Ukraine, its nature, and impress with their openness, lyricism, and poeticism.
After the occupation of Mariupol, the artist’s paintings were stolen from the art museum and their fate remains unknown. The loss of his creative legacy became a great trial for the artist. But he found the strength to start working again, creating new soulful landscapes and still lifes», noted the Lviv Historical Museum.
Museum address: Lviv, Rynok Square, 6. Presentation start: 16:00.
