The Lviv Palace of Arts will host the opening of the Autumn Salon exhibition

On 19 November, at 16:00, the Lviv Palace of Arts will host the opening of the High Castle Autumn Salon exhibition.

This year’s salon is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the death and commemoration of the historical and cultural memory of the prominent figure of Ukrainian culture, Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky.

The official part of the exhibition opening will start at 16:00 in the Palace’s concert hall, where invited lecturers and historians will share stories about Andrey Sheptytsky as a metropolitan, cultural figure, patriot and one of the main founders of Ukrainian national identity. This part will last approximately one hour. Upon completion, visitors will be able to see the large-scale exhibition.

Andrei Sheptytsky is known for his contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture, religion and education. As metropolitan, he became one of the greatest patriots and founders of national identity, supporting art, literature and science. Thanks to his initiatives, Lviv and other Ukrainian cities became centres of cultural renaissance.

The exhibition will feature paintings, graphics, weaving and sculpture. In total, the Autumn Salon 2024 will present more than 250 works by artists from different parts of Ukraine and abroad. In particular, Borys Buriak, Mykhailo Demtsia, Viktor Kovtun and Volodymyr Slepchenko.

The Autumn Salon will also feature an exhibition of paintings “No Changes” by Ukrainian artist and representative of the Lviv Art School Oleh Minko, an exhibition and competition of children’s drawings and sculptures “Autumn Fairy Tale in Colours” and an exhibition of social posters “Ukrainian Poster in Lviv”.

The annual exhibition is organised by the Lviv Palace of Arts and the Lviv Regional Organisation of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
