In July, the Summer Library project, “Summer Library. Your favourite open-air book collection!”, will be running in four popular parks in Lviv. The Lviv Municipal Library is organising free access to books, relaxation areas and sports equipment for residents and visitors to the city, right in the green spaces.
The “Summer Library” involves mobile locations where librarians themselves come to the readers. Visitors can choose books, settle comfortably into deckchairs or beanbags, and also play active games in the fresh air.
All services within the campaign are free of charge. After filling in a short visitor form, you can:
- borrow the most interesting books to read on site or check them out to take home;
- use the relaxation area by hiring deckchairs, beanbags and camping mats;
- get sports equipment for active games: footballs and volleyballs, frisbees, etc.
The “Summer Library” locations will operate from 15:00 to 20:00 according to the following schedule:
- 7–9 July — Horikhovyi Hai Park;
- 14–16 July — Pope John Paul II Park;
- 21–23 July — Zamarsynivskyi Park;
- 28–30 July — Stryiskyi Park.
The project is being implemented by the Lviv Municipal Library with the support of the Lviv City Council and LKP “Zelenyi Lviv”, as well as with the participation of the administrations of the parks involved.
