In Lviv, the collection of books has begun for the annual nationwide book swap “Book Square 2026”. The initiative covers 10 cities in Ukraine and abroad, including Tokyo (Japan). The main book exchange day is scheduled for 16 August, when the event will take place simultaneously in all participating cities.
The organisers note that anyone interested can join the initiative by bringing their books to designated collection points. In Lviv and the settlements of the Lviv community, the collection will run until 10 August.
This year, “Book Square” will bring together book lovers in Lviv, Ternopil, Terebovlia, Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Bila Tserkva, Khmelnytskyi, the Yarmolyntsi community, as well as in the city of Tokyo. The organisers publish detailed participation conditions, a list of books available for exchange and programme updates on the project’s Facebook page and on the initiative’s website.
In Lviv, book collection points are located in libraries and cultural spaces across all districts of the city.
