A new installation has appeared in Rynok Square in Lviv — an empty chair that symbolically “waits” for the return of Ukraine’s defenders from captivity and for those who are still listed as missing. This was announced by Mayor Andriy Sadovyi.
The chair was installed by the families of service personnel who are currently in captivity or have still not returned home. Around the installation, tokens bearing the names of those whom their loved ones continue to await have been placed.
The creators of the idea describe this place as a space of hope and faith — a place for those who are still being waited for at home.
