Gifted youth were awarded in Lviv – 27 talented children received awards for their knowledge or skills. The mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovy, thanked them for the knowledge they had acquired and presented them with certificates of appreciation and prizes of 15,000 hryvnias.
“It’s really cool to be able to make money with your head, so if you start doing it at such an early age, you’re going to have a great future. We hope that you will invest your knowledge in the city. Together with you, we must create such an atmosphere that will give you the opportunity to be as creative as possible. We want you to create, contemplate, admire music, art, because these are the ingredients that activate your activity. Many thanks to you for enriching the Lviv community with your intelligence. We are very happy about that,” emphasized Andriy Sadovy, mayor of Lviv.
The gifted youth support program of the Lviv City Territorial Community provides financial support to talented students who have become winners of city student Internet Olympiads, international, all-Ukrainian subject Olympiads, intellectual contests, tournaments, and participants in research conferences.
“Today we have a great honor on behalf of the city to reward you for the achievements you have gained with your knowledge over the past year. We are very proud of you. Maybe you don’t understand it yet, but every day you build our country with your skills and strength. We believe that one day you will invest all your skills in the development of Lviv and Ukraine, in creating good for other people. If in the future one of you performs the most difficult operation, makes a scientific discovery, invents something that will make us all better, it will be a great help to our city. Your knowledge is our future,” said Andriy Zakaliuk, head of the Lviv Education Department.
