Guided tours in Lviv on the defence of Luhansk Airport and meetings with its defenders

On 17 and 30 October, the Memorial Museum of Totalitarian Regimes “Territory of Terror” in Lviv will host themed guided tours of the exhibition “The Beginning of Resistance: Defence of Luhansk Airport”, followed by meetings with participants in these events.

Visitors will hear about one of the largest battles of the first phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war, which lasted 146 days in the spring and summer of 2014. The tours will cover the chronology and key episodes of the defence of Luhansk Airport, the conditions in which Ukrainian servicemen had to operate while encircled, as well as their daily life and interaction.

The tours will be led by Anastasiia Hlotova, co-author of the exhibition and of the chronicle book “In a Ring of Fire. Defence of Luhansk Airport”, together with direct participants in the defence of the airfield. Particular attention will be paid to the support provided to the military by Luhansk volunteers and local residents, to the Luhansk Maidan and to the events that preceded the occupation of Luhansk, in other words, to the beginning of resistance in the Luhansk region.

The events are scheduled for 17 October (Saturday) and 30 October (Friday) at 16:00 at the “Territory of Terror” museum, located at 45h Chornovola Avenue. Each meeting will last up to two hours.

Admission to the tours is free, but advance registration by phone with Anastasiia Hlotova is required (all messaging apps are available).
