Lviv to host “From Hero to Hero” tour marking the anniversary of Iryna Farion’s death

A themed tour entitled “From Hero to Hero” will be held at Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv to mark the second anniversary of the death of linguist and civic activist Iryna Farion. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, 14 July, starting at 17:30, and the route will last approximately 2.5 hours. Participants will gather at the main entrance to Lychakiv Cemetery.

Participation in the tour is free of charge, but prior registration is required, as well as confirmation of a charitable donation in support of the 4th battalion “Syla Svobody” of the National Guard of Ukraine’s “Rubizh” brigade. The fundraising is aimed at helping the comrades-in-arms of Vasyl Osoba, Hero of Ukraine and husband of Sofiia Osoba, daughter of Iryna Farion. The number of places is limited.

The tour route will link the burial places of prominent Ukrainians associated with the struggle for Ukraine’s independence and the development of science, culture, the arts and public life. During the walk, they will recall, in particular, Iryna Farion, Bohdan Soroka, Kateryna Zarytska, Mykhailo Horyn, Yurii Shukhevych, Borys Voznytskyi, Mykola Bidniak, Yaroslav Dashkevych, Lev and Dariia Rebet, Yurii Verbytskyi, Serhii Kulchytskyi, Ihor Bilozir, Markiian Shashkevych, Adam Kotsko, Ivan Franko, Myroslav Skoryk, Volodymyr Ivasiuk, Andrii Parubii, Solomiia Krushelnytska, Oleksandr Kryvenko and Roman Fedoriv.

The initiator of the tour was Sofiia Osoba, daughter of Iryna Farion. The route was designed by guide Nataliia Zubyk.
