The Veterans’ Fair has opened in Rynok Square, Lviv, and will be held every Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00 until 6 December. The first fair of the year showcased products from 23 enterprises founded by veterans and their families. The goods include artisanal products, baked goods, icons, ceramics, handmade crafts, and souvenirs.
Among the participants is Andriy Ben, a Lviv veteran who creates antique wooden icons in the family workshop ‘Saint Nicholas Icon Painting Workshop’. According to him, the fair is an important place for communication and support among comrades.
Sergiy Zhukovsky, another veteran participant, renowned for his brand ‘Dried Joy’, offers a variety of meat snacks, such as jerky and kabanos. His participation in the event has already become a tradition.
Also available among the exhibited goods are unique knitted items by Olesya Putrya, who runs her own workshop ‘Putrya’. Her products include original handbags and baskets. The event is organised by the NGO ‘Families of Fallen Heroes of Lviv Region’ with the support of the Lviv City Council to promote products made by veterans.
The lineup of participants may change weekly, so veterans are invited to register and participate in the fair. Last year, around 80 participants took part in the event, gradually presenting their products at various fairs.
