The team of the Lviv network of youth spaces WORKS! created a project on Youtube “History of the volunteer rear”. It consists of a series of video interviews with those who have volunteered since the beginning of the war.
Humanitarian aid, work with internally displaced people, logistics, psychological support, information front – volunteers with their work created a safe rear, so that there, at the forefront, fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine could continue to defend our state.
According to the press service of the network of youth spaces WORKS !, the heroine of the first issue was Sandra Alekseenko (Cherry). Sandra is a two-time immigrant: in 2014, Russia took away her home in the Crimea, and now – in Kiev. Sandra volunteers a lot. Collects on thermal imagers, launches information campaigns, helps with humanitarian aid for IDPs. She recalls the Ukrainian Crimea and tells how the morning of February 24 began with a call from her mother and explosions outside the window. He says that he wants to go to the front, but he understands that it is more useful here, in the rear, so he stays in Lviv and also contributes to the victory.
“I think that the first thing will be Ukraine. Second, we are all strong. And if before someone doubted that, for example, eastern Ukraine is not so Ukrainian, it seems to me that the way it is now struggling to show both Ukrainians and Russians how Ukrainian it is, it just blew up the minds of many people. I understand that now our Ukraine is stronger than ever, and right now we are fighting for our independence. And I am sure that we will choose her, “says the heroine.
