At the municipal institution of the Lviv Regional Council “State Memorial Museum of Mykhailo Hrushevsky in Lviv”, an exhibition of paintings by 125th Territorial Defence Brigade veteran Ruslan Kukhta entitled “Intermediate Stop” has opened.
The exhibition includes paintings that the artist created at different periods of his life: before military service, while on active duty, and during rehabilitation after being wounded. The canvases depict landscapes, roads and places that hold a special personal meaning for the artist.
During his service, Ruslan Kukhta became interested in photography and later, while undergoing rehabilitation at the Unbroken creative studio under the guidance of Marta Batura, began to work actively in the genre of painting. He creates his works in acrylic on canvas and cardboard.
“”Intermediate Stop” is a pause between the past and the future, an opportunity to look back, to see beauty in the ordinary and to preserve what is truly important. Each work is a separate stop on the artist’s life journey, in which the viewer may also recognise their own memories,” the museum notes.
During the exhibition opening, a charity fundraiser was organised to purchase a carbon handbike for Oleh Yordan. The money raised is intended to help the athlete take part in international competitions and achieve his goal of competing at the Paralympic Games. To support the fundraiser, postcards featuring reproductions of Ruslan Kukhta’s paintings were also prepared.
The “Intermediate Stop” exhibition will run until 15 November. The display can be viewed at the Mykhailo Hrushevsky Museum at the following address: 154 Ivana Franka Street, Lviv.
