The Max Sir International Film Festival at the Lviv Palace of Arts gathered a full house and presented the winners.
On 13 September 2024, the Lviv Palace of Arts hosted the Max Sir International Film Festival, which became a real event for the film community and art lovers.
The event attracted a huge number of visitors who gathered to celebrate the achievements of world cinema and explore new perspectives in the field of art.
The festival has already attracted more than 6,000 filmmakers from 167 countries.
The opening speech was delivered by Max Cyr, the Chilean artist whose name the festival is named after and who has inspired many people with his work. Yevheniia Kolesnikova, the director of the film festival, also made a speech and thanked all the participants and guests for their support and love of cinema. Sashko Balabai and Olena Chernenko, members of the jury, also addressed the audience, sharing their impressions of the contestants’ works.
During the event, all members of the festival’s jury were presented, including: Tetiana Pylypets, Valeria Borshchevska, Oleg Shulga and Andriy Voronov. They had the difficult task of choosing the winners among the numerous films submitted from all over the world.
The winners of the festival are:
- Best feature film: House made of sea shells (UAE)
- Best documentary: Shirampari (Peru)
- Best animation: The Forest Paper (Thailand)
The festival also featured the opening of an exhibition of Max Cyr’s works entitled Metamorphosis.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Levko Vankovych, Director General of the Lviv Palace of Arts. The exhibition has received numerous positive reviews from visitors, filmmakers and critics, and has become a great addition to the film events.
Max Sir International Film Festival continues to develop the film industry, discover new talents and inspire artists from all over the world. Next year, the festival’s focus will be on the arts, so all Ukrainian artists are invited to participate in the event next year.
