In Lviv, a Square Named After Andriy Parubiy Will Be Opened

On Sunday, 24th May, in Lviv, the ceremonial opening of a square in honour of Hero of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy will take place, timed to coincide with Ukrainian Heroes Day. The event will commence at 1:00 PM, at the corner of Prosviaty Street, near the building of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.

The square is located between Lychakivska Street and Prosviaty Street, where the monument to Vyacheslav Chornovil, the State flag, and the regional administration are situated, where Andriy Parubiy served as a deputy in several democratic convocations. This was reported by the Chief Executive Officer of Lviv City Council’s Executive Committee, Yevhen Boyko.

“We believe this is a good decision that honours the memory of Andriy Parubiy and his work for Ukraine,” said Boyko.

The decision to name the square was supported by the Parubiy family and the street renaming commission in Lviv City Council. It was approved unanimously on 30th April during a plenary session of the city council. Previously, on 30th August 2025, Andriy Parubiy was fatally shot in Lviv. In October of the same year, a memorial plaque was unveiled in his memory.
