Exhibition of Art Brut to Open in Lviv and Book Presentation

An exhibition entitled ‘Art Brut’ will open in Lviv tomorrow, 17th March, at 19:00 in the creative space Kivsh, located at 120 Shevchenka Street. A book about neurodiverse artists will also be presented. The exhibition will run until 15th April, according to the Lviv City Council.

Olya Stavnikovych’s Studio unites artists of various ages and experiences, who work intuitively, free from academic constraints, creating art from personal experience and imagination. The book, designed by Sophia Stadnyk, serves both as an art album and a document of the emergence of a new community of artists.

The publication contains reproductions of the studio artists’ works, their stories, and texts that help to see the phenomenon of Art Brut in the Ukrainian context. During the presentation, visitors will have the opportunity to hear these stories firsthand, purchase the ‘Art Brut’ book, and be the first to view the exhibition of works.

At Kivsh, works by various authors, including Sophia Zhuk, Nestor Shmygelsky, Mykhailo Vatamanyuk, among others, will be showcased. The curatorship of the exhibition was undertaken by Olena Polishchuk, who assisted in the selection of works and developed the exhibition. Admission to the exhibition is free.

Olya Stavnikovych’s studio is an inclusive art workshop in Lviv, offering a space for creativity without academic constraints, where art arises from intuition and freedom of expression. The Kivsh space acts as a platform for exhibitions and creative events, fostering cultural dialogue.
