On Sunday, 1 November, ceremonial events will take place in Lviv to mark the 108th anniversary of the proclamation of the Western Ukrainian People’s Republic. Residents and visitors to the Lviv region are invited to take part.
At 12:00 at Lychakiv Cemetery, the memory of the soldiers of the Ukrainian Galician Army will be honoured at the UGA Memorial. Flowers will also be laid at the grave of the President of the Ukrainian National Council of the Western Ukrainian People’s Republic, Yevhen Petrushevych, in the field of honourable burials No. 76 on Vakhnyanyna Street.
At 13:00, a flower-laying ceremony is planned at the monument to the Heroes of the Western Ukrainian People’s Republic and the Ukrainian Galician Army at the crossroads of Lystopadovoho Chynu Street and Ivana Ohiienka Street.
The organisers call on Lviv residents and guests of the city to join in commemorating those who fought for Ukrainian statehood.
