At the “Historical and Ethnographic Museum “Boykivshchyna”” in Sambir, a jubilee exhibition by Bohdan Tkachyk, “The Way of the Cross of Ukraine”, was solemnly unveiled. The exhibition is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the People's Artist of Ukraine and public figure.
At the beginning of the opening, those present honoured the memory of the fallen Defenders of Ukraine with a minute of silence.
The museum's director, Olha Bilas, emphasised the symbolic nature of the exhibition's title and its relevance to the present day.
“The Way of the Cross of Ukraine is something that is always with us, what we are living through now… In the artist's canvases lie the people's memory, their spirituality, struggle and faith,” noted the museum director, Olha Bilas.
The musical atmosphere of the event was created by students of the municipal institution of the Lviv Regional Council, “Sambir Vocational College of Culture and Arts”. They performed the pieces “Brattia” and “Lebedi Materynstva”.
At the end of the event, Bohdan Tkachyk made an artistic gift to the Boykivshchyna Museum, presenting the institution with 12 of his own works, which will enrich its collection.
