In the village of Nahuievychi, an exhibition of children’s creative works dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Franko has opened at the municipal institution of the Lviv Regional Council, the Administration of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve Nahuievychi.
The exhibition presents the best works by the winners of the All-Ukrainian exhibition-competition of children’s drawings “O kraiu mii, Pidhiria ty prekrasne…” (O my land, you beautiful Foothills…). The young authors used a variety of artistic techniques: painting, graphics, glass painting, weaving, paper cutting, ceramics and sculpture.
The initiator and organiser of the competition and exhibition was the municipal institution of the Lviv Regional Council, the Pidbuzh Art Lyceum named after E. Myska. Children aged from 7 to 16 took part in the competition, divided into four age groups. The jury received more than 200 works in various categories.
“Children aged from 7 to 16, divided into four age categories, took part in the competition. More than 200 works in various categories were submitted: painting, graphics, glass painting, weaving, paper cutting, ceramics and sculpture. Our esteemed, professional jury selected the best works, which are presented at this exhibition,” said Valerii Vovk, Director of the Pidbuzh Art Lyceum named after E. Myska.
During the official opening, the participants of the event prayed for the children taking part, their parents and teachers. Diplomas were presented to the winners of the competition and their mentors. Serhii Olenych, a deputy of the Lviv Regional Council, also joined the event.
The event concluded with a concert, with performances for the guests by students of the municipal institution of the Lviv Regional Council, the Drohobych Vasyl Barvinskyi Specialised Music College.
The exhibition “O kraiu mii, Pidhiria ty prekrasne…” will be on display for a month at the following address: village of Nahuievychi, 15 Ivana Franka Street.
