Art Festival in Sheptytsky: New Murals and Fountain

An art festival has commenced in Sheptytsky, which will adorn the city with new murals and a painted fountain.

The walls of VPU No. 11 in Sheptytsky will soon shine with vibrant colors thanks to the ‘SheptytskyStreetArt’ festival. Six artists from different countries are working on four murals and a fountain: Ray Bartkus and Evelina Paukstyte from Lithuania, Evan Lovett and Kristin Scholz from the USA, Will Teather from the United Kingdom, as well as Ira Vodolazchenko from Ukraine.

Attaché for cultural affairs of the Lithuanian Republic’s Embassy in Ukraine, Tomas Ivanauskas noted: \”This is already our second project in Ukraine. Last year we worked in Lviv, and such a festival has been running for 12 years in Mariampole. And now, in Sheptytsky. We want to add colors to the city, so we chose bright shades for the fountain. I am a big fan of Ukrainian vyshyvankas — I already have seven in my collection! So these motifs will definitely be on the fountain\”.

The artists will work on the project daily for a week, with the completion of the works scheduled for Saturday, July 12. The project is implemented with the support of the Lviv Regional State Administration, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania, and the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Ukraine.
