VI National Festival Launched in Sheptytsky

The VI National Charity Festival of Folk Crafts, dedicated to the 160th anniversary of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky, has begun in Sheptytsky.

Around 40 craftsmen from all over Ukraine have gathered in the city to honor the memory of artists and set a record for mass egg painting. Among the participants are doctors, teachers, artists, ceramists, and folk masters. They shared memories and stories about their egg-painting teachers.

Craftswoman Olha Rovetska shared her research on regional characteristics of egg painting and the revival of ancient techniques. “Today is a special day in Sheptytsky, as for the sixth time an art festival is taking place in our city,” noted mayor Andriy Zalivsky.

He thanked everyone who supports cultural heritage and contributes to setting records. “I believe that next year we will raise the bar even higher,” added Zalivsky.
