On the third Thursday of May, Ukrainians around the world traditionally celebrate International Vyshyvanka Day — a festival of national unity, cultural heritage, and civic dignity. This year, the day falls on May 15th.
Today the vyshyvanka is not just an element of national attire. It is a symbol of strength, resilience, and faith. Amidst the full-scale war, it has gained even deeper meanings — as a talisman that preserves our values, our language, our culture.
Each pattern holds the voice of ancestors, each stitch holds the love for the native land. The vyshyvanka unites Ukrainians — those at home, those temporarily abroad, and those on the front line fighting for the freedom of future generations.
On this day, we honor and remember those who gave their lives for the right to wear the vyshyvanka freely. And we thank everyone who continues to protect Ukraine — in the Armed Forces, on the home front, in civic life, on the international stage.
We urge community members to join the celebration: wear a vyshyvanka, take photos, share on social media with the hashtag #BuskVyshyvankaDay2025, support our defenders with kind words, donations, or prayers.
Our strength lies in unity, our weapon is culture, our victory is ahead!
