This autumn, the municipal institution of the Lviv Regional Council, the Cultural and Arts Centre “Lviv Art Palace”, will host the World Press Photo 2026 exhibition. Residents of Lviv and visitors to the city will be able to see photographic works by the winners of the international photojournalism competition.
The exhibition has been made possible thanks to the cooperation between the public organisation Mystetski Mandry (Art Journeys), the Institute of Cultural Strategy and the Lviv Art Palace. The partners have signed a memorandum of cooperation, which provides for the joint implementation of cultural and artistic projects, the development of the professional community, and the attraction of international initiatives to Lviv.
The World Press Photo 2026 exhibition will be one of the first joint events within this framework. The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is supporting the exhibition.
“It matters to us that the Lviv Art Palace will become a space for dialogue about contemporary photojournalism, in particular about how photography documents reality, shapes memory, and tells the world about the events of the Russian-Ukrainian war” — Levko Vankovych
The organisers will announce the exact opening date of the exhibition and the accompanying programme separately, closer to the event.
