Funds from the regional budget will be allocated for this.
Yesterday, June 23, the director of the department of architecture and development of urban planning of Lviv OVA, Olena Vasylko, together with specialists, held a working meeting in Brody regarding the state of emergency of the synagogue and the need for repair and restoration works in Brody Castle. Both buildings are architectural monuments of national importance. Together, we managed to determine the priority of work on these objects.
Already by Wednesday, the architect Yuriy Verbovetskyi will form a list of priority measures, phasing and main components of the development of scientific project documentation. The synagogue requires urgent emergency works. As for the castle, it now houses a school and a museum. The condition of the building is not critical, but the roof and facade need repair and restoration work. Therefore, this year they plan to provide funds in the regional budget.
The leadership of the local self-government body, in particular the head of the Brodiv city council – Anatoliy Beley and the city’s chief architect Tetiana Nikiforyak actively support the restoration of these monuments – there will be co-financing from the community.
We will remind you that this year the regional budget provides four million hryvnias for repair and restoration works on the roof of the Prague Bank in Brody.
