In Poland, the memory of Fr. Mykhailo Verbytskyi and Ukrainians who died in the village of Pavlokom

The delegation of the Lviv region honored the memory of the author of the National Anthem of Ukraine, composer, Father Mykhailo Verbytskyi in the village of Mills on the occasion of the 208th anniversary of his birth, as well as the victims of the tragedy of Pavlokom of the Republic of Poland.

Representatives of the socio-cultural societies “Nadsiannia”, “Lyubachivshchyna”, the association of Ukrainians in Poland, the public laid flowers and lit lamps near the chapel-pantheon on the grave of Father Mykhailo Verbytsky and together performed the National Anthem of Ukraine. A prayer service was also held in the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, where Father Mykhailo Verbytskyi was once the parish priest. Later, the delegation took part in a prayer for Ukraine in the church of St. Dimitriy in Yavirnyk Russky.

Also, in the village of Pavlokom of the Republic of Poland, mournful events were held to honor the memory of 366 Ukrainians who died on March 3, 1945. As part of the events at the memorial to the 366 victims of the village of Pavlokom, representatives of the Lviv Oblast delegation laid flowers and lit lamps, and also took part in the memorial service for the dead.
