Lviv Region and the Republic of Korea: New Opportunities for Ukraine’s Recovery

Cooperation of Lviv Region with Korea for Ukraine’s Recovery

At the end of March, a delegation from Ukraine visited the Republic of Korea. The visit took place at the invitation of the President of the Korean-Ukrainian Association of New Construction and former Ambassador of Korea to Ukraine, Lee Yang Gu.

The delegation included the Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Khrystyna Zamula. During the working visit, the Deputy Head of the Region participated in the Interregional Cooperation Forum, where she presented the opportunities of our region and discussed ways of future cooperation.

“International cooperation with countries that have successful experience in post-war recovery, infrastructure development, and the creation of free economic zones is critically important for Ukraine. We believe that the Republic of Korea will become our reliable partner in the rebuilding process,” emphasized Khrystyna Zamula.

Key Results of the Visit

  • Lviv region presented projects ready for investment. The company K-water is already interested in participating in two initiatives: improving water supply in Truskavets and building a ‘Smart City’ in Horodok.
  • During the trip, a partnership agreement was signed between Drohobych City Council and Hamyang County.
  • Education is an important direction. The National University ‘Lviv Polytechnic’ signed memorandums with leading Korean universities, opening up new opportunities for student exchanges, joint research, and innovations.

This facilitates the exchange of experience, joint research, implementation of innovations, and development of education – important components in the post-war rebuilding process.

We thank our Korean partners for their openness, trust, and readiness to cooperate👏🏼
