On 20 October, the Lviv Regional Council appointed two public representatives to the police commission of the Patrol Police Department in Lviv Region.
The commission includes Zakhar Mylyanyk, a deputy of the Lviv Regional Council and a representative of the charity foundation “With an Angel on the Shoulder”, as well as Yaroslav Mandruk, acting director of the municipal enterprise “Defence of Lviv Region”, who represents the civic organisation “Civic Activism of Lviv”.
Police commissions take part in the competitive selection of candidates for service in the police and are intended to ensure transparency and openness of staffing procedures in police units.
