The Lviv Regional Council has taken note of media reports about a possible overstatement of the cost of certain materials in the cost estimate for the reconstruction of the Karpaty base.
Acting Chair of the Regional Council Yuriy Kholod instructed the Department for the Management of Joint Property and the municipal enterprise Tekhnichny Nahlad to re-examine not only the items mentioned in the publications, but the entire cost estimate for the facility. The services are to compare the amounts set out in the documents with current market prices.
According to the position of the Regional Council, if the review confirms that some of the materials can be purchased more cheaply, the cost estimate will be adjusted. At the same time, it is emphasised that no expenditure from the regional budget should be incurred at economically unjustified prices.
The institutions involved in oversight are to publish the results of the repeated review of the cost estimate for the reconstruction of the Karpaty base once their work is completed.
