The regional council committee is working on amendments to the provisions of the Stepan Bandera Award.
The Committee on Culture, Information Policy, and Promotion developed a draft of amendments to the regional council’s decision regarding the award in the fields of culture, literature, art, journalism, and architecture at the meeting on October 27. The term of the competition jury has expired, so a new composition will be formed for three years.
“To coordinate the new edition of the provisions of the regional award named after Hero of Ukraine Stepan Bandera, the deputies decided to initiate a joint meeting of the committees on culture, education, and members of the new jury,” said the committee’s chairman Sviatoslav Sheremeta.
The deputies also supported the proposal to proclaim the year 2026 as the year of Ukrainian poetess, dissident, and OUN member Iryna Senyk, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of her birth.
