The Defence Council of Lviv Region has approved unified requirements for holding cultural, educational, sporting, religious and other public events during the period of martial law. The new rules are mandatory throughout the region and are aimed at protecting the lives and health of event participants.
According to the decision, organisers of mass events must apply in writing to local self-government bodies for approval to hold the event no later than 10 working days before the planned date. The application must, in particular, indicate the nearest shelter and confirm that its capacity corresponds to the number of people who will take part in the event.
When an “Air raid alert” signal is announced, any mass event must be stopped immediately. Organisers are obliged to ensure the prompt evacuation of all those present to the designated shelter. The event may only be resumed after the official all-clear for the air raid alert.
It is also emphasised that organisers bear full responsibility for compliance with public order and fire safety requirements during events. The detailed procedure for organising mass events in Lviv Region under the legal regime of martial law is set out in the relevant document of the Regional Defence Council.
