New Consul General of the Czech Republic Begins Work in Lviv

A new Consul General of the Czech Republic — Jiří Bortcel — commenced work in Lviv. During a productive meeting, several important issues were discussed.

Discussed cooperation opportunities based on the future university hospital of Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University. This hospital aspires to become the main hub for modern medical training in our state.

We will work to ensure our medical students have enough modern simulators and mannequins to practice their professional skills. We count on the support of Czech partners in this matter.

From September 17 to 22, the Czech-Ukrainian partnership days ‘Czech Dreams’ will be held in Lviv for the second time. This event is not only about concerts and exhibitions, but also a platform for exploring Czech culture, education, and business, discussing the restoration of Ukraine, and new opportunities for youth.

‘Furthermore, it’s important to know that the Czech Republic has extended its support program for Ukraine until 2030!’ — noted in a statement. This means over 40 million euros in humanitarian, stabilization, recovery, and economic aid annually.

Special thanks to the government and people of the Czech Republic for financing the reconstruction of the Yulian Liakin Lviv Regional Veterans Hospital and for providing generators for the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center. This helped create adequate conditions for the recovery of our defenders and assured light and warmth during the most critical moments — when new lives are brought into the world.

Welcome Mr. Jiří Bortcel to his new role in our region. I hope for active and fruitful cooperation.
