The Republic of Poland officially has a new Consul General in Lviv.
Today, I personally welcomed Mr. Marek Radziwon at the start of his diplomatic mission in our region. We discussed the further development of cross-border cooperation, humanitarian and cultural initiatives, partnerships between communities and gminas, as well as support for Ukraine on its path to the European Union.
Mr. Radziwon emphasized: The Consulate in Lviv should not just be an institution, but a driving force for joint actions that bring our peoples closer together. I completely share this position.
With the former Consul General Mrs. Eliza Dzvonkevich, we had sincere, open, and action-oriented cooperation. I believe that with Mr. Marek Radziwon, we can expect not formal diplomacy, but active and effective partnership work, for the benefit of the Ukrainian and Polish peoples.
Symbolically, this fall Lviv will present a new joint cultural initiative – an exhibition about Poland and Ukraine. It is actively being prepared at the Lviv Art Palace together with the European Solidarity Center. This is another step towards deeper understanding between our countries.
We thank Poland for the support we feel every day – both in humanitarian projects and on the level of international solidarity. Together – stronger.
