New Border Crossing Rules for Young Men

From August 28, rules for leaving Ukraine have changed for men aged 18-22.

During a briefing at the Lviv Regional Military Administration, representatives of the 7th Border Carpathian Detachment reported that men aged 18 to 22 can now cross the border. To do this, it is necessary to have a passport for traveling abroad and a military registration document (paper or electronic). Exceptions are those who hold certain positions in government or local self-government bodies, who can cross the border only on official business trips.

“Border guards emphasize that the innovations have not created queues. The situation at the checkpoints is calm and controlled,” said the detachment representatives. The most load is traditionally at ‘Krakivets’ and ‘Shehyni’, a medium level at ‘Rava-Ruska’, ‘Hruszów’, and ‘Uhryniv’. The fewest people pass through ‘Nyzankovychi’ and ‘Smilnytsia’.

There is also ongoing recruitment for contract service in the border service. New recruits are awaited for positions as inspectors, dog handlers, drivers, paramedics, and cooks. A special motivation program with financial payments of 1 million hryvnias is in effect for the youth. Documents are accepted in Lviv, at 74 Lychakivska St. Additional information can be obtained by phone at 067 292 51 19 or through the State Border Service call center: 0 7044 2307 600.
