“Lvivoblenergo” was fined for “late updating of information” on the official website

Today, January 30, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NKREKP) on the basis of an inspection fined Lvivoblenergo PJSC 85,000 hryvnias, like other regional energy companies.

The reason was allegedly “untimely updating of information on the company’s website in the section “Why there is no light”, namely information updates every 30 minutes.” No other violations were found in the work of Lvivoblenergo.

The commission pointed out the violation of the resolution of the NCRECP dated March 26, 2022 No. 349 “On the protection of information, which in the conditions of martial law may be classified as information with limited access, including regarding critical infrastructure objects.”

This refers to subsection 6 of paragraph 1 in the part of the distribution system operator posting on its own official website on the Internet information about the start and end times of interruptions in electricity supply to consumers, indicating the names of settlements, streets, buildings, buildings, etc. and the names of interruptions (planned, emergency, application schedules of consumer restrictions) and updating the specified information every 30 minutes.

People’s deputy Oleksiy Kucherenko, former Minister of Housing and Communal Affairs of Ukraine, spoke at the meeting of the NKRECP. He raised the question of how and whether the limits are distributed among the regions of Ukraine, in particular, Lviv region.

“The page of the Lvivoblenergo website regarding the disconnection of consumers “Why there is no light” has been operating since August 2016. Even then, consumers had the opportunity to find out online about the reasons for the lack of electricity and the time when the electricity supply will be restored. Information about the shutdown is automatically displayed on the site from technical programs.” – noted in “Lvivoblenergo”.

Last year, IT specialists of Lvivoblenergo improved the service on the basis of the current page, in particular the search for blackouts (added OTG), added an interactive map with blackouts, as well as the ability to immediately send a message about the lack of electricity to dispatch programs.

With the help of the active outage search service, the user receives information about the start and end time of a power outage by specifying the names of settlements, streets, buildings, and the names of the outages. The information in the section is updated constantly and automatically from technical programs.

“Given the introduction of outage schedules, the corresponding schedules, divided by groups, have been published in the section “Why there is no light”. Each consumer can find his group using the search service. The search is carried out according to the following criteria: settlement, street, house number, and, if necessary, a personal account for household consumers or a contract number for non-household consumers,” Lvivoblenergo informs.
